We are a couple who loves the idea of vanlife and we live in Iceland.
The idea of living in a van/bus has been very appealing to us for a long time but we are now starting to dip our toes into the big pool that vanlife is.
Is it viable in Iceland?
We believe that there is no such weather that can keep us from doing this, it will take a lot of insulation yes! And we might have some issues with snow, but we are certain that this will be a step in the right direction for us, as well as help us keep a smaller footprint.
Where are we in the process?
We have our bus and live in it. We moved into the bus in July 2022 and are weathering our first winter in it. We have a few favourite Youtube channels we follow and adore, and we try to include their posts here on our page to show various versions of how to do things. As well as to follow others’ processes.
The big plan
Our plan has always been to convert our Sprinter bus and slowly kit it out to our desires. We have looked at a list of essentials and non-essentials, both in regards to what to keep and bring with us into vanlife as well as what we want to be kitted in the bus. We think we have a fair starter kit to start out with and are going with it as it seems.
With the bus, we hope to travel all over and see as much as we can of the world.
